A year of adventure lies ahead for members of a youth group thanks to a donation of camping equipment.

Uppingham-based Castle Car Care teamed up with General Tire to donate 10 new tents to the North Luffenham Beavers and Cubs.

Company director John Bartlam said: “I’m proud to support our community and hope these tents will provide the children with many years of fun and friendship on their camping expeditions.

“In today’s technological world, human connection is dwindling and I feel very strongly about encouraging children to spend time outside, learning new skills, interacting with others and experiencing nature.”

The two-man tents are lightweight and easy to pitch, making them ideal for younger members.

A group spokesman said: “The beaver and cubs were over joyed with the fantastic opportunity to explore our great outdoors and experience nature.”
