A campsite in Netherfield has been crowned the best in the UK in the 2022 Camping and Glamping Awards, while three more East Sussex sites also scooped up awards.
Beech Estate Campsite was chosen as the winner in Campsites.co.uk’s awards, where it was described as ‘proper camping’ with secluded pitches and wild bell tents amongst the trees.
The campsite, described on the website as ‘a magical off-grid woodland’ is surrounded by wildlife, making it the perfect place for keen campers to get away with their loved ones and enjoy the outdoors.
Reacting to the news, a spokesperson for the campsite said: “We are so pleased to have won Campsites.co.uk award for Best Campite UK and Best Campsite South East!
“After 10+ years of being open, it’s lovely to know we’re still getting it right.”
Another campsite in Battle, Seven Acre Woods, was named one of the best in the South East, being named runner up for the category.
The other East Sussex winners included: Dogwood Camping and Glamping in Rye, which was named runner up for both ‘Best Caravan Park’ and ‘Best Family Campsite’, and Wheatfields Luxury Glamping near Rye: runner up for ‘Best Glamping Site (South East)’.
Martin Smith, founder of Campsites.co.uk said:
“With so many great sites it hasn’t been easy to choose the winners, but these sites have offered campers something extra special this year, going above and beyond for their guests.
Congratulations to all the winners!”
