A Massachusetts family’s camping trip on Cape Cod turned into a trip none of them will soon forget.In a big surprise, the baby’s mother, Olga Nikitina, gave birth inside the family’s tent during the camping trip. Baby Eva was born in the early morning hours last month while the family was camping at Nickerson State Park in Brewster.Nikitina, who is also a birthing doula, was still a few weeks ahead of her due date when they made the trip.She told WCVB that when the contractions started coming closer together, she knew she was in labor.”She was crowning and then half of her body was born,” Nikitina said. “After she was already out, she started to cry. And after I heard her cry, I was like, ‘everything is OK.'”The family had been planning an at-home birth before Eva made her grand debut at the campground.”Stars collided in a way that this needed to happen like this,” Alex Nikitin, the baby’s father said. “It was just a matter of hours, a few hours later and we would’ve been home.”Mom and baby are both healthy and doing OK.
