Margaret “Peggy” Kennedy departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at Beebe Healthcare after a short illness. She was born to the late Wilmer and Margaret McKnight Carr in Chester, Pa., Dec. 20, 1931.
Peggy lived in resided in Claymont, and Chester, Pa., before relocating to Lewes.
Peggy was employed in the machine shop at Tedeco Products in Glenolden, Pa. She previously worked in the laundry department at Fair Acres Nursing Home in Media, Pa.
Peggy was married to the late Norman C. Kennedy Sr. She enjoyed camping, yard sales, buying and selling, and going to the casino. She also enjoyed eating Mcdonalds’ fish sandwiches and drinking coffee. She loved all the fur babies that came to live with her over the years.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Margaret Mary Lee; siblings, Blanche Carr, Anne Barlow, Catherine Lloyd, Amanda Jean Ferguson and Clarance “John” Carr; and grandson, Russell “Rusty” Hignutt.
Peggy is survived by her children, Norman Kennedy Jr. (Chick), Debrae Kennedy Hignutt and Martin Kennedy; grandchildren, Tammy, Scooch, Erica Mickey and Shana; great-grandchildren, Dez, Russ, Cameron, Carter, Jake, Chelsey, Kate and Lucy; siblings, Sonny Carr, Midge Bull and Carol Vohrer; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, at Grace U.M. Church, 330 E. Church St., Millsboro.
