Niagara Regional Police are searching for two suspects after a camping trailer in Port Colborne was set on fire early Sunday morning

On Aug. 14, 2022, at 6:08 a.m., Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 6 District (Port Colborne / Wainfleet) responded alongside Port Colborne Fire & Emergency Services for a reported structure fire in the area of Steele Street and Division Street in the city of Port Colborne.
Upon arrival, officers found a camping trailer fully engulfed in flames. The fire was subsequently extinguished by firefighters from the city of Port Colborne. The trailer was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and no injuries were sustained. Damage to the trailer is estimated to be $5,000.
After having consulted with the city of Port Colborne’s fire prevention officer, this fire has been classified as arson, and a criminal investigation has been commenced by detectives assigned to 3 District (Welland / Port Colborne).
Detectives have obtained CCTV footage of two suspects believed to be responsible.

- White
- Slender build
- Wearing a white cloth or shirt around his head
- Wearing a black t-shirt
- Wearing black jeans
- Wearing white shoes
Suspect #2
Detectives are appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area at the time of the arson. Residents with CCTV footage in the city of Port Colborne that captures the Steele Street and Division Street area and motorists who may have been in the area with an operational dash camera are encouraged to review their footage.
