A sign at 3855 S. Washburn St. announces Camping World's plan to open an RV sales center and retail store Oshkosh. The project is expected to be completed in December.

OSHKOSH – Camping World is planting stakes in Oshkosh.

Construction started this month on the new building at 3855 S. Washburn St., near the OshVegas Palms Resort and former Country and Rock USA music festival grounds.

DBS Group is the general contractor for the project, though they referred questions to Camping World’s press team, who did not immediately return requests for comment.

However, a blog post on DBS Group’s website announced the company would be design and building a 35,000-square-foot Camping World retail store and RV dealership in Oshkosh. That post says DBS Group expects “substantial completion” by December.

Construction crews work on the site of a new Camping World store being built at 3855 S. Washburn St. in Oshkosh. The store and RV sales center is expected to be completed in December.

“The facility will support Camping World’s continuing market share growth in RV sales, leasing and service, as well as retail sales for RV and camping items,” the post said.

DBS Group is also the general contractor for a Camping World project in Green Bay, where the company is converting Camping World’s former Gander Outdoors store to an RV sales center and Camping World retail store.

The city council in May 2021 approved Camping World’s development plan for the 13-acre parcel.
