Volkswagen is sure to get all the BUZZ around its friendly looking electric van in a few months. The second member of the North American ID lineup should attract a nostalgic clientele, a clientele that would also appreciate the camping version of the vehicle.

Volkswagen is preparing to introduce a variant designed for outdoor camping, but it’s clear that several independent companies will be working their own versions of the special model.

This is the case of the German company alpincamper.de, which is currently at the CMT – die Urlaubsmesse salon. At first glance, one can see that this is the regular wheelbase version and that it is a more affordable version, with those hubcaps.

In addition to the added protective bar in the front and those decorative grey and black stripes on the sides of the vehicle, the ID.BUZZ developed by the company also proposes to raise the roof in order to increase interior space for the passengers when they spend a bit of time in the living area of the vehicle. This makes it easier to handle the sink or even the kitchenette. While the exterior of the vehicle remains sober, the interior of this project respects in every way the spirit of the camping vans of yesteryear.

With this avocado shade mixed with the wood trim, the interior of the van blends perfectly with the plaid patterned sofa. There is also a small storage area above the kitchen area and even flooring. On the other side, another storage space and a shelf are housed over the bench seat, which also overlooks other storage spaces and even a small refrigerator. It’s simple and beautiful to look at.

As the months go by, other projects like this one will see the light of day, as will the official version imagined by the Volkswagen designers. And little by little, the brand’s vans will continue their adventure on the roads of the world, but this time, it will be in silence and without any emissions in the atmosphere.
