I just think the great outdoors would just be a lot greater if I had an excellent yellow floral jacket, okay?!
I’m the rare West Coaster who hates camping. I’ve always believed this distaste comes from the myriad discomforts that accompany life in the great outdoors—thanks for nothing, tents—but after a peep at the new Canada Goose x Reformation collaboration, I realize that perhaps my true hatred for camping is based on not having enough cute things to wear.
I laid my eyes on the bold floral puffers ($1,195) and cheery retro-cool striped down vests ($695) and found myself thinking: maybe I should give this camping thing another chance. While contemplating shivering around a smokey campfire in my boring flannel-and-raincoat combo has never inspired me to call up Parks Canada for a reso, something about the loud, full-body flower-print yellow parka ($1,550) has me itching to commune with nature.
If I were cozily wrapped in the slim-fit forest green Shelborne parka (of course Reformation would produce the world’s only body-con winter coat), I’d be able to withstand temperatures as they dropped to -20 degrees and probably generally be more open to eating hot dogs for every meal. The ultra-light coats and vests are all made of recycled ripstop, so all of the other campers on site would have to respect both my style and my commitment to sustainable fashion.
In other words: if anyone wants to go camping, I am absolutely game! It’ll just cost you $1,550. (Also, I will be ordering takeout.)
