The Connecticut Convention Center’s 140-square-foot exhibition space will be filled with recreational vehicles and exhibits this weekend.
The 40th annual Northeast RV & Camping Show, one of the largest in New England, will take place at the Hartford venue from Jan. 27 – 29. Families and camping enthusiasts attend the event to learn about RV models and potential campground sites for their next trip.
The show will feature RVs, travel trailers, camping products and exhibits about campgrounds located in or near Connecticut, according to the Northeast Productions Inc. website. Representatives from the Connecticut Campground Owners Association will also be attending to provide camping advice.
The RV industry has been growing since the COVID-19 pandemic when Americans had fewer travel options. The industry’s annual economic output has increased by 23% in the past three years, according to a 2022 study produced by the RV Industry Association, a national trade association representing RV manufacturers.
In the past year, Connecticut contributed $264 million to RV services and sales and $324 million in RV campgrounds and travel, according to the study.
Northeast Productions Inc. will also host its Sun RV and Camping Show at the Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center from March 17 to 19.
Individual tickets are on sale for $15 and are free for children ages 14 and under. The show will take place on Friday from noon to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
